2023 has proven that it will be a very exciting year for games, between those that have already come out and those we are still waiting for. It is also proven that it will be a great year to start teasing what we get. One game we already know we’ll get because it was spoiled but doesn’t have an official announcement yet is Mortal Kombat 12. But that may change as a Mortal Combat 12 announcement could be just around the corner.

Mortal Kombat has always had an interesting history when it comes to its franchise. MK is a series that literally started the ESRB rating system to some of the best-selling games to horrible fall off and then rose again. The franchise has withstood it all and risen higher.
It is one of the staple video game franchises for fighting games and pop culture. With MK 11 already having been such a success, people were more than ready to learn about what the next installment will bring.
Normally, we would like this next installment from the official announcement with at least some art or a trailer. Instead, we first learned about the game from an earnings report that was inadvertently leaked. And interesting moment, to be sure, and one that excited many to know the game was coming but confused about what we would be getting. Now that all might be changing.

As reported by different sources, including Jeff Grubb, we will get a new official announcement for Mortal Kombat 12. The statement has no exact date, but we know it should be coming out sometime this week. Given that this is the official announcement, we will hopefully get some details about the game. Things like what characters we can expect to see and the game’s possible story.
This entry has been a long time coming, as it has been four years since the last game came out. A period that was only sustainable due to constant DLC characters dropping every few months. This extra content added a lot of longevity to the game, but now people are ready for something new. This game could be it for them, and with a release date possibly coming in the year, it could be very soon.
For now, though, we must wait and see what the announcement brings. We will watch for any more leaks or news so you can be the best to Ford about the new game.
