Cheating in video games has always been a center of discussion among players. It allows players to achieve their own experience to their desires. But cheats constitute a significant problem when used in multiplayer gameplay and significantly impact the experience of all kinds of players. This cheat use is expected in the latest Call of Duty release, where MWII’s crossplay settings don’t let the player remove certain system types. The usage of this cheat engine is hinting to cause many issues in the community and must be dealt with.
Summary
- All new Call of Duty MWII’s Crossplay settings does not let allow the user to turn it off, which could give rise to cheaters in the game.
- PC users will have access to cheat engines that tip the game’s balance in their favor.
The biggest issue with Crossplay and cheats is that there is no natural way to filter out a player with cheats. On PC, there is a variety of ways that a player can choose to customize their gaming experience.
This may include modding or a cheat engine; players can alter their game to their tastes in many ways. The crux of the matter is that players on Xbox consoles can not disable the crossplay to avoid cheaters and are at a major disadvantage. Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players can disable the crossplay to prevent the incoming PC players that could easily cheat in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.
The solution should be simple, though, right? Just turn off the ability to play with PC users, and everything should be all right. The problem is that, for some reason, the developers decided to create a minimal Crossplay menu, and one of the things left off was to leave the option to disable crossplay. Now, it may be possible for you to encounter PC players that are using cheats in your multiplayer session.

There is currently no way to solve this from within Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer itself. Instead, you will have to exit the game and go to your Xbox setting. From here, you can change the whole console’s Crossplay settings. Although it is not the most convenient solution, it is the best way until it is eventually patched in-game by the developers.
It may seem funny, but so much went into planning a game like this that it is possible that the developers just never thought it would be needed. A bit foolish given the propensity of cheat engines today, but it was most likely always designed to help the community.
Crossplay is here to stay for the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, but you must remember that a player may have this advantage. In the future, developers may release a patch to solve the issue of keeping the PC cheats away from the game and, once again, balancing the playing field for all. But until that happens, you are taking the chance on your own.
