Leather Boots
- You can craft leather boots without requiring tools. Players can get them by killing cows, donkeys, mushrooms, llamas, mules, and horses.
- I have also found them in different structures, such as Tanner’s chest and Shipwreck‘s chest, with the following chance: 31.8% and 20.8%, respectively.
- As far as stats are concerned, these boots feature one defense ability and 65 durability.
Why Do I Prefer Leather Boots?
I prefer using these shoes when no better alternatives are available, for example, at the very start of a new Minecraft world where you will need resources.
- Easily found.
- Beginner Choice.
- Very Low stats.
Iron Boots
- Iron boots are the 2nd easiest to attain in the game since they can have multiple ways to cross by than other boots.
- These boots can be obtained by crafting them using four iron ingots and placing them in two parallel lines.
- I have also found them in Stronghold and Weaponsmith chests, which have a chance of 12% and 25.6%, respectively.
- These boots feature two defense abilities and 195 durability on the stat table.
Why Do I Prefer Iron Boots?
These can be crafted easily and boast dependable stats. I suggest using them in the beginning stages of your Minecraft world when you are low on resources.
- Easily found.
- Easily crafted.
- Dependable stats.
- Doesn’t boast good looks.
Gold Boots
- Gold boots are harder to obtain than iron boots because gold ores spawn less than iron ores.
- Other factors include how they spawn at a rate of 9.8% in bastion remnant chests.
- Stats show these boots feature one defense ability and 91 durability.
Why did I Choose Gold Boots?
When living in a safe world, these shoes provide a great look to the overall outfit. Other than that, I don’t find them much useful practically.
- Eye-catching looks.
- Below average stats.
Diamond Boots
- Diamond boots are tough to obtain; however, they do not require a tremendous amount of work to get.
- I think the most efficient way to get Diamond Boots is by mining and crafting diamonds.
- Another way of getting diamond boots is by going to the Bastion.
- I don’t recommend it much as it is a hard task, and the drop rate for getting diamond boots is 15.8%, excluding enchanted shoes, as they are much more difficult to get.
- On the stats table, these boots outclass others with three defense abilities and 429 durability.
Why did I Choose Diamond Boots?
These shoes are the most dependable and balanced in the game. These boots offer great protection and look good as well. While they are relatively tougher to find than the above three options, they are still widespread in Minecraft.
- Good looking.
- Great stats.
- Well balanced.
- Relatively difficult to obtain.
Chainmail Boots
- Chainmail boots have low stats compared to other boots, such as diamond and gold.
- However, these are much more difficult to obtain as they are not craftable.
- Similarly, to come across chained boots is very low because you can find them in treasures, which are not something you get from “crossing by” but rather by hunting the treasure.
- On a stats table, they feature one defense ability and 195 durability.
Why did I Choose Chainmail Boots?
I only prefer wearing these to boast my unique and rare collection of items. Otherwise, they are not worth it.
- Rare collection.
- Below average stats.
- Ugly look.
- Very hard to find.
Netherite Boots
- The hardest boots to attain are Netherite boots because they require extensive mining and high-quality gear to mine.
- To get Netherite boots, you must first find diamonds, make a pick axe to mine obsidian, and build a portal to the Nether.
- Once you get inside the nether, mine below y=15, after a huge amount of time, you will finally mine four ancient pieces of debris.
- After mining, you will require four diamonds, gold ingots, and Netherite ingots to make a diamond boot.
- “Netherite” ingot is crafted with four gold ingots and 4 Netherite scraps (Netherite scraps are made from Ancient smelting debris).
- By combining Netherite ingot and diamond shoes, you can finally make Netherite boots. I say these are the hardest to obtain, considering these tedious tasks and how these tasks require multiple bars.
- These boots top the stats table with 3 defense abilities and 481 durability.
- In addition, these also offer 10% knockback resistance and are burnproof.
Why did I Choose Netherite Boots?
These are hands down the best boots in the game. Even though I had to struggle more to afford them, they were worth the effort. Dealing with deadly situations, they armor against lots of damage, allowing me to survive for longer periods of time.
- Eye-catching looks.
- Best stats.
- High defense ratings.
- Difficult to obtain.
Best Boots Enchantments
There are different combination enchantments of boots. As some enchantments can not go on with each other, each boot enchantment combination is for different needs.
The best boots include these enchantments (I took inspiration from YouTuber Shulkercraft):
- Mending: Mending helps repair armor with XP rather than the material used to make the item.
- Depth Strider III: Depth Strider is an enchantment for shoes exclusively, which helps speed the player on the water.
- Protection IV: Protection reduces the damage to almost everything except hunger and warden boom attacks.
- Soul Speed III: Soul Speed is my favorite enchantment for shoes exclusively, which helps speed the player on soul sand and soul soil.
- Unbreaking III: Helps increase the durability of an item.
- Feather Falling IV: I find this one very useful as it helps in reducing fall damage a lot.
You cannot apply certain enchantments together on the same item. If you have an extraordinary amount of materials and XP, I recommend using them to put enchantments on multiple boots. The incompatible enchantments are Protection, Fire Protection, Blast Protection, and Projectile Protection for all armor.
My Recommendation For Boots
Boots are essential in high-level survival worlds. I can confidently say Netherite is the stiffest boot to attain in the Minecraft universe, but its statistics make it worth the trouble. However, diamond boots are not a bad idea either, as they are relatively easier to get and offer almost the same stats.
