If you don’t have a lot of precision regarding attacks, the Brutalizer is your weapon. It is the strongest machete in the game. This legendary weapon is the best pick if you have a knack for slashing body parts and shredding zombies to pieces. It can deal a massive amount of damage and has exceptional durability.
Successive hits by this weapon will lead to a weakened effect that also spreads to nearby zombies, which is why this weapon is perfect for when zombies surround you and want to deal damage to multiple zombies simultaneously.
To get the Brutalizer, complete the questline ‘Body Art’ for an NPC Francesca. She is an artist that collects body parts and needs your help to collect them. You can attempt this side mission after completing the side quest for Ricky, the drunk rocker. The questline consists of 5 side-quests, each requiring you to collect a certain zombie body part that they drop while dying and return to Francesca in her bucket.
Note:
- You can only start collecting body parts after the main story mission, ‘The Giant Slayer.’
- There are some body parts that you might already have, so check your inventory for them.
- If you do not know which body part belongs to which zombie, go to Collectibles > Zompedia > Apex Variants for detailed explanations.
- Fast travel to a location or reload your save to make zombies spawn. Traveling 150 meters away and reloading will also make them spawn.
- The quests appear one after the other, so if a quest isn’t appearing for you, exit and re-enter the game.
Body Art Quests:
- Visionary:
For the first quest, you must collect ten pieces of infected flesh. You will already have some pieces in your inventory; for the rest of them, you can go fishing in Beverly Hills.
- Heft:
Step 2 of the questline is collecting and returning five oversized arm bones. Oversized bones belong to Crushers. You can find Crusher’s hotspot markers on the map and go to the location to collect the parts.
- Moist:
Step 3 is to find and collect the arms of Slobbers. Slobbers are commonly found near and within sewer areas but can also be found anywhere else. Check the map and get the required body parts.
- Uproar:
For the fourth quest, you need to get five infected spines. You can find the spines on Screamers. They are easily found in Beverly Hills.
- Vigor:
This step requires you to collect blade arms. You can go to the pier area to find them for this one.
- Dread:
For the final collectible, you need to get three mutated hearts; a mutated zombie will appear in a nearby house where you complete the side-quest ‘A Ballad of Ricky.’ Go to the house to find the zombie and get the mutated hearts.
After completing the final step, reload and go to the house to find Francesca in the backyard. She will award you with the Brutalizer.
