Prologue: Wandering
The Prologue is an opening introduction to the game world, characters, and enemies. I consider this one of the most extraordinary openings in any Diablo game.
The character you play with is known as a wanderer. He is a human with some connection with a powerful demon known as Lilith. At the Prologue’s start, the corrupted villagers capture the wanderer.
He was drugged and fed Lilith’s blood petals to strengthen their connection. As the story progresses, the wanderer fights with different enemies, gains experience, and moves forward.
At the end of the Prologue, the wanderer reaches his destination and starts his quest to save the Sanctuary and defeat Lilith.
Act 1: A Cold And Iron Faith
A Cold And Iron Faith is the first Act in the Scosglen region. I was introduced to the current situation of the Sanctuary and the direction of the story in this chapter.
In this Act, the player will research the vanishing of a gathering of legends who protect the people from evil in the past. This group was named Horadrim.
Let me remind you that Act 1 is not small at all. It includes 19 quests to finish. This Act concludes with a fight with the boss, The Lord Of Pain, Duriel. It would be best to defeat him using your skills and abilities, as he is invulnerable to physical attacks.
The main quests of Act 1 include:
- Ill Tidings: This quest includes research into the vanishing of the group of heroes named Horadrim. They used to fight against forces of evil in the past.
- The Knight And The Magpie: In this quest, you will meet a girl named Nyrelle. She is there looking for her mother. Her mother is a Horadrim and was last seen in Korvaak Mountain. You will help her to find her mother by traveling to the Korvaak Mountains.
- Below: In this quest, you will fight with The lord of Pain, Duriel, while you are looking for Nyrelle’s mother in the area of Korvaak Mountain.
- In Her Ankle: In this quest, you find more about the Prime Evil and find Magpie’s master.
Act 2: The Knife Twists Again
In this Act, you must investigate the vanishing of a Zakarum troop, the worshiper of archangel Tyrael. You will then find out that cults attacked the troops. Andariel, a powerful demon, leads this cult.
It would be best if you ventured out to Travincal and defeated Andariel before she unleashes her evil on the world.
The main quests of the second Act include:
- The Beast Within In this quest, you must fight against a mighty beast running havoc in the region of Dry Steppes.
- Apex Of Misery: In this quest, you must venture through the temple of the firstborn, defeating everyone who comes in your way and confronting Andariel.
- Exhuming The Forgotten: In this quest, you must gather information about Andariel by finding the remains of a Zakaram hero who may have it.
- Encroaching shadows: In this quest, you have to follow the Path of the cult member to Dry Steppes.
Act 3: The Making Of Monsters
This Act took me to the lands of Hawezar, and when I first realized that the game’s difficulty significantly increased from one Act to another. The Act starts with you researching the vanishing of a group of Witch Doctors.
The main Quests of Act 3 include:
- The Spreading Darkness: In this quest, you investigate the vanishing of the group of Witch Doctors and get to the root of this event.
- Suffering Disquiet: In this quest, you learn and research about the cult that attacked the Witch Doctors.
- Whittling Sanity: During this quest, you will meet with Lorath and battle with different enemies. You will also follow the Path of the cult to Hawezar.
- A Moment to Collect: In this quest, you will talk with Lorath in Ked Bandu and join her for the autopsy.
Act 4: A Gathering Storm
The fourth Act, A Gathering Storm, takes place in the territory of Hawezar. Around here, you will come across The Rouges and their useless obstruction against Lilith’s armed forces.
I recommend completing side quests here and leveling up your character because the rest of the game will only get more complex.
The enemies in this Act are more potent than the enemies of previous acts; increasing your level before starting this Act is recommended. As compared to other acts, Act 4 is the shortest Act.
The main quests of Act 4 include:
- Prying The eye: In this quest, you must ask Taissa how she feels about everything happening. You are also tasked with bringing the Sightless Eye to the pedestal and gazing into it.
- A Master’s Touch: This quest takes place in Kyovashad. In this quest, you must meet with Donan at the Cathedral of Light and speak with her.
- A Meeting Of The Minds: This quest takes place in Tarsarak. Here, you must meet with your Forsaken Chappel allies. Then, you are required to speak with Neyrelle and look for Taissa.
Act 5: Secrets Bartered, Fates Sold
In this Act, you will venture through the territory of Kehjistan. Around there, you Will meet Vizjerei and experience their tough battle against Lilith’s enchantments.
Act 5 truly tested all the skills I have learned thus far and threw some of the most terrifying demons in my way. So, it is recommended to equip your character with high-quality gear and be prepared for coming battles.
This Act contains a total of eighteen quests. The main quests of this Act include:
- The Path Divided: This quest takes place in the territory of Zarbinzet. In this quest, you must meet your companions in Zarbinzet and talk with Donan and Taissa.
- Secrets Of Zakarum: In this quest, you must look for a way into the Zakarum Fort and keep going until you find a wrecked wall. Cross the wall by climbing, meet Donan, and talk with him.
- Swamp Hospitality: In this quest, you meet Donan in Wejinhani, go with him to the tower, and speak with Taissa.
Act 6: Dance Of The Makers
This Act is part of the endgame in Diablo 4. This is when I finally started to see an end to this story and was prepared for the challenging boss fights ahead.
You have to prepare Your character to fight against powerful enemies. So you can win any battle and rise by using your skills wisely. You can also complete side quests to find rare rewards and increase your level.
The main quest in Act 6 includes:
- Evil Stirs In Kehjistan: In this quest, you will meet with Horadrim in Kehjistan. Prepare to stop Lilith from entering hell and speak with Neyrelle.
- The Walls Shake: This quest takes place in the region of Caldeum. You must get into the Imperial Castle and fight Duriel in this quest.
- Light Extinguished: This quest takes place in Burning Hells. In this quest, you will research the Spire of Torment with your allies and defeat enemies.
- The Blind Eye: In this quest, you will fight with Lilith to defeat her. You will also use the sightless eye and defeat the nightmares.
Epilogue: From The Wound Spilled
After defeating Lilith and completing all the acts, a small epilogue named From The Wound Spilled will start. This is a minimal play with only three quests.
At the end of the Epilogue, you will meet with Lorath and give him a letter—this letter, which was from Neyrelle, states that she is going on another excursion without Lorath.
The only three quests of this Epilogue are:
- Promises
- A Heavy Burden
- Legacy of the Horadrim
My Thoughts
The acts are a significant improvement over those of previous Diablo games. These acts are well-designed, challenging, and engaging. I wanted the acts to be longer and the story more fleshed out.
