Who Is Nitara?
Nitara, an immortal vampire from the Vaeternus realm in Mortal Kombat, was portrayed by Megan Fox. This casting choice sparked controversy among fans.
Shao Kahn conquered her realm, and her vampire race feeds on the blood of living beings to survive. Despite her bloodthirsty nature, Nitara is portrayed as morally neutral, driven by the well-being of her people.
She allies with characters like Shang Tsung and Quan Chi to save her realm from starvation and separate it from Outworld. One thing I loved about this character is her unique ability to fly; she is one of the few characters with this capability.
Her weakness lies in Earthrealm sunlight. However, this vulnerability doesn’t hinder her from navigating the Outworld, even during the day. There’s also an interesting Easter egg involving Megan Fox and Nitara.
Sometimes, during her interactions with Liu Kang or Kung Lao, I heard them asking about Jen’s body. It is a neat little reference to Jennifer’s Body, a cult classic starring Megan Fox. The Jen in the game is a reference to Jen Reyland.
Fighting With Nitara
Nitara is a highly versatile character in the game. However, her move set may be slightly complex for new players.
Players mastering her move set may be able to land some speedy combos. These combos will often not give your opponents any chance to react.
I mostly utilized her ability to fly, which makes Nitara unique in her fighting style. The wings behind her back are not cosmetic and help this winged vampire take control of the aerial attacks. It is where Nitara mainly shines.
She can quickly dash towards their opponent mid-air, creating more opportunities for combos.
In combat, Nitara’s unique special ability is the Blood Sacrifice. This attack allows her to spend her health to unlock additional special moves and abilities. Mastering the art of combining aerial attacks with Blood Sacrifice requires practice and skill.
Therefore, I recommend practicing before jumping into the arena if you want to pick Nitara. Her move set can be viewed during a fight, which could help you learn some tricks.
All Of Nitara’s Fatalities
These are some of the most gory Fatalities in the game, which, in terms of Mortal Kombat, is a huge complement.
Vaeternus KomBAT – Fatality 1
Her first Fatalit is called Vaeternus KomBAT. The first part represents her home world, while the second is what players can expect from this Fatality.
- Medium Range
- Down
- Down
- Left
- Front Punch
Once the Fatality is executed, Nitara grabs and holds her opponent by their throat. Next, a swarm of bats are forced to climb down the opponent’s throat. After which, Nitara tears the torso open, releasing all of the bats back into the sky. This Fatality is equal parts gory and very creative.
As a result, the following button sequence can be pressed on your console or PC to execute this Fatality:
Platform | Button Sequence |
---|---|
Xbox | Down, Down, Left, X |
Playstation | Down, Down, Left, Square |
Switch | Down, Down, Left, Y |
PC | Down, Down, Left, J |
Disembowelment – Fatality 2
Nitara’s second Fatality was locked when I started playing with her. Playing with the character and winning online battles will only assist in unlocking this fatality for the character.
You can unlock her second Fatality once a certain level is reached.
- Medium Range
- Left
- Down
- Left
- Back-Kick
This Fatality sees Nitara jumping towards her opponent and slashing their stomach open. Furthermore, she grabs them by their intestines and lifts them in the air. Afterward, she holds the opponent by their innards and kicks them back down. It leads to the opponent’s skeleton falling towards the ground while the rest of their body disintegrates in the air.
Nitara then lands next to the pile of broken bones, celebrating her victory. It is another highly gory Fatality that may not be as creative as the first but still is plenty of fun.
As a result, I suggest you use the following button sequence on your console or PC to execute this Fatality:
Platform | Button Sequece |
---|---|
Xbox | Left, Down, Left, B |
Playstation | Left, Down, Left, Circle |
Switch | Left, Down, Left, A |
PC | Left, Down, Left, L |
Nitara – Is She Worth It?
I’m genuinely impressed after diving into Nitara’s character in Mortal Kombat 1. She is a multifaceted character with a rich background from the Vaeternus realm. While Megan Fox’s portrayal might be divisive for some fans, it adds a unique touch to the game.
Nitara’s aerial combat skills and vampire-based moves offer a fresh combat style, though mastering her might challenge newcomers. Both her Fatalities, ‘Vaeternus KomBAT‘ and ‘Disembowelment,’ are equally gruesome and captivating.
