Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom: Paraglider [Unlock Guide]
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has many ways to travel the wide open world. You can build cars, a boat, or a flying machine; if you like it, you can run. However, one of the more exciting methods to explore Hyrule is by gliding through the air on your Paraglider. Therefore, this guide will help you find the Paraglider and how to use it in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Paraglider is an exciting and quick way to explore the world of Hyrule.
However, finding the Paraglider may be tricky, as the game does not tell you exclusively how you can acquire the Paraglider.
Players must play the main campaign in the beginning if they want to get to the Paraglider.
It would be best if you visited the Hyrule Castle initially to unlock the objective that leads to you unlocking the Paraglider. Moreover, you will be gifted the Paraglider by Purah at the Lookout Landing.
The Paraglider is very easy to control, and you can bring out your Paraglider by pressing the X button mid-air.
You can also customize your Paraglider and change the design of the cloth on it. These clothes or fabric designs can be unlocked by completing game quests and exploring the world.
Kochi Dye Shop, located in Hateno Village, can change the fabric on your Paraglider for 20 rupees.
Where To Find The Paraglider
Paragliding is an enjoyable mode to explore the world. It allows players to explore vast distances quickly and unlock newer portions on their map. So players can launch into the sky and smooth sail across the wind on their paragliders. Once unlocked, the Paraglider is permanently added to Link’s ability, so you always have the option to journey through the skies.
In the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players are not told exclusively where to find the Paraglider. As a result, players can play for hours without ever getting to a paraglider. However, a paraglider is essential to Link’s capabilities and makes traversing around much more accessible.
To find the Paraglider, play the game’s main campaign. Players can explore many things once they are dropped into Hyrule, but head on to your objective to find a paraglider. Players must first head to the Hyrule Castle and the First Gatehouse. Here you will find a few arrows and learn about decaying weapons with low durability.
Then head on to the roof of the First Gatehouse and complete this quest. Then head back to the Lookout Landing, where you will meet Purah. Here you will get a tutorial on the Skyview Tower and its importance to your main campaign. This is also where Purah finally gives you the Paraglider with default cloth.
Activate the Skyview Tower, and you will be launched into the sky. This is also where you will first learn how to operate the Paraglider. Moreover, it is essential to remember that even though your campaign starts at the Great Sky Islands, you cannot acquire Paraglider until you get to the Hyrule Castle.
How To Use The Paraglider
The game makes it simple for new players to use the Paraglider. These are the following keys you can use for paragliding:
X Button: Will open your paraglider mid-air.
BButton: Close the Paraglider so you will descend towards the ground.
R Button: This button will send your Paraglider into a nose dive toward the ground.
Left Stick: This stick will control Link’s movement in the air.
Right Stick: This will control the camera or the direction Link faces.
A paraglider will be one of the most important things to help you travel faster in Tears of the Kingdom. However, it is essential to remember that players can not use it forever. Paragliding is directly linked to a player’s stamina. So as soon as your stamina runs out, players will start to fall freely toward the ground.
Therefore, bringing some enduring foods in Tears of the Kingdom to regenerate stamina is essential for a long journey. If you are dropped from a great height, you will lose much of your health, depending on the size. However, the Paraglider gives additional use for a few seconds, even when stamina is finished. Players can use this bonus paragliding time to cushion their fall so they do not lose health.
Moreover, you can also increase the total stamina of Link. This can be done using the Light of Blessing at the Goddess Statue. You will need four Light of Blessings to get a vessel of stamina.
How To Upgrade The Paraglider
You can customize and upgrade your Paraglider in the Tears of the Kingdom. Therefore, if you do not like how your Paraglider looks, you can always change it according to your choice. However, remember that these customizations are purely cosmetic and do not change anything in the Paraglider’s stats.
Players must first unlock the design for different fabrics to upgrade their Paraglider. There are almost 24 unique designs for your Paraglider. However, a player must first unlock them. There are two ways you can unlock the designs for these fabrics. The first method is playing the main campaign, completing side quests, and exploring the world.
The second method may be a little more tricky and requires using Amiibo. You can use Link’s in-game ability to scan Amiibos. This results in a chest being dropped at your current location. These chests could contain new weapons, health items, armor, or even designs for your Paraglider.
To get new designs onto your Paraglider, visit Kochi Dye Shop. The iconic shop can be found in the Hateno Village and is easily recognized through the large bottles of dyes placed on the shop’s roof. Once at the Dye Shop, head inside and meet the owner, Sayge.
Here you need to select the option, Rework the Paraglider. This will take you to the customizations you can do to your Paraglider. Sayge will only charge you 20 Rupees for customizations. However, only the designs you have unlocked so far can be used.
Moreover, when players first interact with Sayge, they are rewarded with a new design of fabric, CeceFabric. So you always have a design you can change into when you first visit his shop.
Paraglider makes its return from the previous entry into the franchise. Even though it was easier to acquire the Paraglider in The Breath of the Wild, it still is equally vital in The Tears of the Kingdom. In the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players are not told exclusively where they would find the Paraglider or if it even exists.
Players must figure this out for themselves by playing the main campaign. Therefore, it is essential to play the main objective when you first land on the surface of Hyrule. The main objective will take you from Hyrule Castle to Lookout Landing to meet Purah. Here you will learn how to operate the Skyview Towers and be gifted with a paraglider.
Paragliders are somewhat tricky to use. However, once players get the hang of it, this becomes a meaningful way to travel worldwide. Moreover, paragliding drains Link’s stamina, so it is always best to carry stamina-regenerating foods. You can customize the Paraglider according to your choice and soar through the world of Hyrule.
