In Starfield, the overdesigned mission will help the player go through the journey of an expansive universe of shipbuilding. There are two primary ship outcomes in the Starfield known as “Kepler S and Kepler R.” You can also choose between Compromise One and Teambuilding, and it’s up to you which one you want to choose. Kepler S and Kepler R are larger ships that can fit 3 to 6 crews. The Overdesigned mission is the quest for the player to deal with the character “Walter Stroud.”

You also have to deal with his team and build the Spaceship together. The mission can affect the character in Starfield, and you will be able to use different spaceships. You can begin the mission after completing the main mission called “A High Price to Pay.”  

Overdesigned Mission 

If the player cannot get the Kepler S as a reward you can get the Kepler R after completing the Overdesigned mission. You have to make different choices to get different rewards. There are two side quests that you will get after entering the mission.

Kepler S 

After talking with Walter Shroud, the player can unlock the Kepler S by completing the quest objectives. You will also be able to find the details in your data menu. You can collect the Kepler S when you reach the “Stroud Eklund Staryard” area.

The first step for getting the Kepler S is to choose a smaller budget with Jules while talking to her. 

• The Value of the Kepler S Spaceship you are building as a task will be 176240. 
• The fuel you will need to start the Spaceship in Kelper S will be 400. 
• Next, the ship’s cargo capacity will be 3200, with a 27-light jump range capacity. 
• There is no weapon in this ship of Kepler S. So, the ship is not built for battle. 
• To indicate a ship, you will need a crew of 3 to build the ship. 
• The ship’s mass will be 1474, and the shield that will protect the ship is 570. 
• If you cannot pass the persuasion check, you will not get Kepler S. 
• After talking with Walter Shroud, The player can access the Kepler S by completing the quest objectives. You will also be able to find the details in your data menu.

Kepler R 

The Kepler R is a reward for the Overdesigned mission you can get after completing the mission. To unlock the quest, the player must complete the main mission, The High Price to Pay.

The players must convince Jules to get the higher price if they want to get the Kepler R. This is the most challenging step, and you must succeed in the persuasion check. 

• You have to talk positively and nicely to your team, which will encourage every member who will help you to build the ship in Starfield. 
• Once you can complete the two missions, Jules will give you two options, and you have to choose one that will ultimately decide the outcome.
• The options are going to be “Compromise and Team Building exercise.” You must choose your path by choosing one of Jules’s suggestions. 
• The Value of the Kepler R will be 433570, and the fuel you need for the Spaceship will be 2800. 
• To indicate the ship, you will need a crew of 6 that will work as a team and help you build the Spaceship. 
• The weapons you will get on the ship are BAL 44 and LAS 38 in Starfield. 
• Also, the mass of the Kepler R ship is going to be 2642, and the shield that will protect the ship is in the quality of 805.

Kepler S Vs. Kepler R 

Kepler R	Kepler S
Kepler R has a higher fuel capacity.	Kepler S has a lower fuel capacity.
It can travel longer than Kepler S without refueling.	You have to refuel the ship if you are traveling far.
Kepler R has the highest range of jump.	Kepler S has a lower jump range than Kepler R.
It can reach a higher star system than Kepler S because of the higher jump range.	Because of the lower jump, you cannot reach the higher star system.
It has more cargo space than Kepler S, which helps you to carry more goods and resources.	It has a smaller cargo storage than Kepler R, so you cannot carry many resources.
It also has a great shield that protects you from the enemy’s damage.	It has a low-shield quality that will protect you from damage but is not as good as Kepler R.
Kepler R also has weapons that help you deal with enemies.	Kepler S has no weapons in Starfield.

Personally, I will recommend you not to skip the overdesigned mission. This is because you will get Kepler R as a reward, which is definitely the best-end game ship in Starfield.
