GRIS Next Gen update hits consoles on December 13 and brings new performance options. The new performance options will allow console players to get that sweet 4k resolution, and the game is supposedly able to reach 120 Frames Per Second on consoles now.
- Gris Next Gen update will give you the option to play on 4k or 120 FPS performance mode.
- The update is supposedly a release for just consoles and will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
- The Xbox Series S won’t feature the 4k, and 120 FPS performance modes, and the resolution will be capped at 2k.
GRIS is an artistic masterpiece of a game. With a reasonably unique brush-styled-like art style which could more easily be explained as something of a hand-drawn watercolor art style, the game is intensely popular among players.
Aside from the art style, the core gameplay of GRIS is a dreamy platformer. Its primary genre could be described as an adventure game, and the main theme of the game is a journey to heal oneself. In other words, it’s a coming-of-age story that explicitly focuses on grief and acceptance.
It has a lot of positive reviews about it and is sitting on a whopping 84 Metascore and 8.5 user scores according to Metacritic.
GRIS Next Gen update is right around the corner, according to the recent announcement. In just a week, console players will have the ability to play this beautiful side scroller in 4k resolution.
Since it is an indie game with not many requirements in the hardware department and will be able to go up to a constant 120 FPS on the console quickly. A notable fact is that you cannot have both 4k resolution and 120 FPS activated at the same time and will have to choose between the two. It would either be 120 FPS and 1080p OR 60 Fps and 4k resolution.
In our own opinion, we would choose the latter as the GRIS is more about its beautiful art than the combat. Even on 60 FPS, the game will be smooth like butter and you will get to enjoy its extraordinary art style and beauty in 4k resolution on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox X.. Still, just to clear any confusion, the version of GRIS for Xbox Series S will be capped at 2K resolution and 120 FPS.
