After a shaky launch of GTA Trilogy, it appears that the game developers Grove Street Games will no longer be working on the project. This has not been announced so much as put together by observers who have noticed severe shifts in information for the company and the game’s development.
Summary
- Grove Street Games had been working on the new GTA Trilogy port for Rockstar Games.
- As of the company’s last update on linked in, there was no inclusion of the port in the company’s plans.
This news was a bit of an exciting discovery by the Twitter user @videotech_ on Twitter, who had been keeping track of the new GTA Trilogy port. The port was being handled by Grove Street Games, who are already experienced with porting a game. GSG had already handled the porting for Ark Survival Evolved to the Switch.
It seems that Grove Street Games is no longer involved with the GTA Trilogy.
According to a post on LinkedIn by CEO Thomas Williamson, the team has been working on porting ARK to the Switch since April and plans to explore new partnerships. https://t.co/uZTMGLDIBr pic.twitter.com/OiLrYJPocc

Then in an update post made on the LinkedIn Grove Street Games’, CEO Thomas Williamson announced the upcoming plans for the company. In the post, he listed the continued support for Ark while moving to work on Ark 2. One thing that had been left out of the post was any mention of the GTA Trilogy port.
This did leave many to wonder whether this meant they were no longer working on the game or not. While it has been two weeks, and there is still no official word back from Grove Street Games, there has been some information from the Trilogy development. This is because the game was updated on the Epic Games store info page, and there is no reference to Grove Street Game.
With that in mind, it does appear that GSG is no longer working on the game, and Rockstar has taken over the game directly for the time being. Only the future will tell us whether this was a good choice.
All we have on Grove Street Games is no longer working on the GTA Trilogy. What are your thoughts on the subject matter? Share with us in the comments section below.
