Updated News: The game’s official YouTube channel has posted an unboxing video of the Collector’s Edition.
Hogwarts Legacy dropped a brand-new Dark Magic trailer at the Gamescom event in Germany and announced all their game editions available for pre-order. Still, we all missed the Collector’s Edition. Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition was recently revealed by EB Games Australia early.
It was scheduled by Avalanche Game Studios to unveil it in full detail on their YouTube channel, but it was disclosed before that. So we are going to break all of this new information down today.
Avalanche Studios’ Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy from Avalanche game studios is a role-playing adventure game based in the Harry Potter world, with the player character attending Hogwarts Witchcraft School in the early 1800s. Warner Bros is reportedly developing Hogwarts Legacy with the help of Avalanche Game Studios, released under the Portkey Games label.
It is an open-world game, allowing players to explore the school and its surrounding areas, including Hogsmeade, at their own pace. While exploring the places, players can engage with other non-player characters also.
Each student has a unique story about their time at Hogwarts; some may have left before you arrive in your first year, and others may still be around when you graduate. You’ll be able to learn more about each character’s past by talking to them or reading notes left on desks throughout Hogwarts Castle.
The game is sandbox-style, but each class is guided by a specific task. Your choices affect the world around you; some creatures may be more friendly or hostile depending on how you interact.
Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Version: Contents
The brand new Edition of Hogwarts Legacy will have the complete game of Hogwarts Legacy and novelty as a figure for many Harry Potter fans. The game revealed its contents officially:
Magic Wand And A Book
The Crown jewel in this edition is the floating ancient magic wand and a book many Harry Potter fans desperately want.
Dark Arts Battleground
With this collector’s edition, players will obtain Battle Arena with Dark Arts, where players may test their dark magic knowledge across waves of challenging enemies. The Battle Arena is similar to what we’ve seen in the Star Wars Jedi Fallen, where we can test our weapon load out and improve the gaming muscle memory for new abilities.
Steel Book
This Edition will also feature a Hogwarts Legacy Steelbook case with the game disc, only for PlayStation and Xbox. Recently Santa Monica Studios received an intense amount of community backlash from their recent God of War Ragnarok Collector’s Edition Steelbook not having a game disc, so Warner Bros have taken it on board here, but if you are a PC player and wanted a disc in your Collector’s edition, you’re missing out here.
Cosmetic Pack By Dark Arts & Thestral Mount
Dark Arts pack provides the player with the Dart Arts Cosmetic Pack. As we can see, this new pack looks pretty cool, and the player also gets Flying Thestral Mount.
Garrison Hat & Kelpie Robe
Players can also access dark arts garrison hats with an exclusive Collector’s only edition Kelpie Robe to equip in-game.
72 Hrs Earlier Accessibility
Collector’s Edition will also give us 72 hours of early access to the game. This means we’ll be able to play the game on 7 February, 3 days before its official release. Whether this is all worth the hefty price tag, though, only the fans can decide that, but this is what avalanche is running with, and we are not sure they’re going to have any trouble not selling out; we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.
Avalanche Studios revealed Hogwarts Collector’s Edition with a price tag of $300 with all the bells and whistles. That’s a massive price, but what do you get in it? Well, everything we have discussed above: since then, the game has received much criticism. Fans call the sky-high price “disgraceful” and “stupid,” especially regarding what was available in similar versions of the game like God of War and Horizon Forbidden West.
Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition: Coming Out Next Year
Collector’s Edition has been delayed until 10 February 2023. It is set to release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, including Series X, S, and PC. Nintendo Switch players are in queue as the platform is announcing the date soon.
