We have been waiting for the latest DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 for a while now, and it appears that we have been rewarded. Phantom Liberty will be the next big thing for the game and will offer numerous improvements. Cyberpunk 2077 may have had a rocky start from its launch, but it has slowly gained credibility over the last few years. Several patches and improvements have taken the game from an unplayable mess to a decent title. The next step for the game is the release of the DLC Phantom Liberty, which will be an interesting change for the title.
The Phantom Liberty DLC will take players and put them in the role of V for another go around but this time with a much different plot. This DLC will take players on a spy and espionage-based campaign that will have them doing things they never have before. Combine this with the fact that Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves will both be in this, and fans are excited.
The first look at the new DLC is from a leaked play test on a YouTube short. In the video, we see V in a dingy and desolate-looking area. The player utilizes parkour to get around some obstacles in moving into an access tunnel. The Hud seems to have been changed in this version, which might be a standard change, or it could tie into some new stealth mechanics.
While the video did not give us the best look at the DLC, it did seem to confirm a persistent rumor about the game. It has been known that this new DLC will take us to an all-new area of the city that we had never been to before. It has been rumored that the area in question will be the Pacifica District, considered one of the most dangerous areas in the city.
While we don’t know the exact nature of the new mission, it is fair to say that as a spy mission, infiltration will be involved. So you, as the player, will likely be hired or tasked with going into this hazardous area to retrieve someone or something. Idris Elba will be playing NUSA agent, and whether this means he will be an ally, boss, or enemy, he is most definitely involved in this.
This DLC could be released as early as the summer of this year, and its current price is $35.99. These are both temporary until we get official confirmation, but with rumors that it might get showcased for the summer game fest, we might get these answers soon.
