Assetto Corsa has garnered a large fanbase for its fan gameplay and dedication to recreating real-world cars in the game. Given that few racing titles or car-focused games attempt this, Assetto Corsa has benefitted from such attention to detail. This has gone over so well that in a recently leaked document, it has been confirmed that Assetto Corsa 2 is coming in spring 2024. This is an interesting document as it confirmed a sequel and disclosed some of the sales figures for the franchise.
Summary
- An Assetto Corsa sequel has been confirmed, thanks to a leaked document.
- The sequel will be more than likely built around the core concepts that made the first game so famous.
- The document also revealed some sales figures that made Digital Bros confident giving the game a sequel.
Assetto Corsa is one of those titles that may have flown under your radar as it is not one of the most heavily advertised or talked about games out there. If you do know about it, though, then you are aware that it is one of the best-detailed car racing games out there.
It did not have one of the most extensive setups initially due to being made by a smaller going company. This did not stop the game from becoming popular, or the studio from eventually being acquired by Digital Bros. Check out the original post from MauroNL on Twitter.
The Assetto Corsa franchise has sold over 28 million units as of December 31, 2022. Revenues for the franchise have exceeded €104m since its inception in 2014.

Now we know that Digital Bros. was so impressed by the game’s sales that they have decided to go ahead and green-light a sequel. The only other thing we have confirmed about the sequel is that it will be released in the spring of 2024. This doesn’t give us a lot, but it likely means the game has been developing for a while.
While we don’t know the complete specifics of the game now, we can make some assumptions about what we will get in the next title. The first thing that you can bet on is the car selection will be updated. With more money comes access to more vehicle licensing, and I would also expect to see more in-game improvements. I would expect them to improve further on the realism of the car system.
There is a lot of potential in an Assetto Corsa sequel, but why would Digital Bros. green-light a sequel for the game? The answer is that the game has sold well, north of 104 million euros as of December 31st, 2022.
That number in copies is 28 million, which isn’t a small number either. Now it is not like these are a small number, but some say they should be larger since the game was released in 2014. The answer that the leaker provided is that these numbers are mostly based on console sales since Digital Bros. took over the game.
So it isn’t surprising that the company would want to release a sequel with good numbers like these, but it still tells us little about the game. Because of this, we can expect to see more details leak over the coming months, and we will report them if and when we find them.
That is all that we have on Assetto Corsa 2, coming spring of 2024.
