Quit Story Missions

Unlike GTA 5 Online, you cannot select a specific job/mission and hit the “quit the job” option. The player must either fail the mission intentionally or save the game.

Players will be fulfilling the conditions required to fail a mission ( Each mission has a different set of rules to follow). Or, you can try out an authentic but a bit tedious method.

Perform a Save Game choice. I cannot recommend saving enough if you have doubts before going into a mission. If you have to leave the mission quickly, all you need to do is simply load the last save file, and you are back like nothing happened.

An effective way to do this is by performing a Quick Save. Access your phone in GTA 5 and hit the cloud icon named “Quick Save.”

Usually, the game uses an auto-save feature, which will not result in quite a use regarding quitting the mission.

It is because the game will load to the point where you have started the mission. Other than that, sleeping is another method of saving the game, which will not help you in this situation.

Select The Quit Job Option

When a player is tired or furious and wants to leave a specific mission, they can bring up their phone and then go to the “job list” option. Once you reach the job list, you can see your current mission. 

Now, the next step varies with the device you are playing, GTA 5. If you are playing the game on PS4, press the square button, and you will see “Are you sure?” popping up on your screen. Click on yes, and you will leave the mission within seconds.

However, if you are playing on Xbox One, press X, and the procedure is identical. For PC users, I can confirm that the middle mouse button works to cancel a mission. 

Besides quitting a mission, the GTA phone or call log allows the players to keep up with their in-game friends and communicate with support whenever needed. 

Getting Wasted

Among various methods to abandon a mission, one in particular is the most basic to come to mind: getting Wasted. Simply have your health depleted, and you will be at the point where the game will ask you to quit the mission. You can go to the interaction menu and select the “Kill Yourself” option.

Or, if you prefer dramatic outings like me, just run into an explosion and go out with a bang.

Sometimes, this option comes in handy when other methods become redundant. Now, the question to come to mind is, “Why is Wasted considered an option?”

Explicitly, if you are exploring the Abandoned mine in GTA 5, there will come a moment when you will have to ram the door to be inside the mine. Once inside, the door will respawn when you proceed further into the mine.

At this point, you are not going through any mission that you can quit, and the door will not open again without smashing it. As a result, it is preferable to die there and make your way out if you can’t figure out a way to leave such locked areas.

Leave GTA Online 

If you are looking for a quick yet effective method to leave GTA 5 missions, then going GTA online is the best. Don’t know how to do it? We suggest you follow the below-given steps. 

1. Search for the menu tab on your playing screen 
2. Click on it and then go to the “online” tab
3. Press this button, and you will be directed to a page where you can find the “leave GTA Online” option at the bottom. You will be taken out of the game quickly by selecting this button.

   

If you follow these steps correctly, you can quit the mission. However, one downside of this method is that the player may need to wait a long time before logging back in compared to the other two methods discussed further. 

Find Another Session

It happened to me a lot when I had just started a mission and got an invite from friends, and then I was left with no choice but to quit the current mission. If so, you must quit the current mission before joining the new one. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Open the menu tab
2. Go to the online tab 
3. Select the “change session* or “find new session” tab

This method is similar to the above one, but instead of selecting leave the GTA online, you click on the “find new session” option. Players often use this method to quit a mission because it doesn’t keep them waiting long to log back in and start the game. 

Cancel The Heist

GTA 5 is all about fun and exciting heists to earn money; however, if you are in theft, you must know how to cancel it for several reasons. These can be due to changes in setups or entries. Here’s how you can easily cancel a heist in GTA 5:

1. Ensure the heist is in progress
2. Pick the in-game smartphone and open it
3. Go to the contacts or call logs
4. If the heist is Cayo Perico heist, call the contact name Pavel. For any other heists, call Lester.
5. After that, select the cancel heist option, and your heist will be canceled.
