In this Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Soryotanog guide, we will show you where to find the Soryotanog Shrine(Buried Light). Along with some tips on solving its mind-boggling puzzle to receive the ‘Light of Blessing.’
Key Takeaways
- The Soryotanog Shrine is located in the Geruda Desert, Geruda Town, high above Geruda Town.
- The coordinates for Soryatanog Shrine are -3880, -2961, and 0123.
- You can enter Shrine by going through Geruda Town, climbing the walls of Geruda Town, and using ascend or paragliding directly from Skyview Tower Geruda Desert.
- Once you enter the shrine, pick up the fan stuck in a pile of sand using Ultra Hand, and use it to clear the other piles. Underneath one of the piles will be a treasure chest open it. You will receive a Small Key. Use the key to unlock the Green Door in the room.
- Now go into the second room; you will face a Construct and defeat it. Then clear the piles; on the Right corner will be a pile; behind it will be a hidden path. Use that path to get to the third room.
- Although you can skip the third room, it is highly recommended by us as it contains the Chest with Arrows(x10).
- Go back into the second room, and through there, go to the fourth room using ascend on the ledge in the second room. Once in the fourth room, defeat the Construct. Clear the piles. Use the mirror under one of the piles and place it on the elevated structure on the light source. Doing this, you direct light into the second room through the barred gate.
- Then go back into the second room. There will be a mirror there. To unlock it, use it to redirect the beam from the fourth room toward the Orange Lock. Once the lock turns green, the door under it opens.
- Go into the room and complete the Shrine and receive Light of Blessing. This can be used to increase Links Stamina and Health.
- Rewards you receive from Soryotonag Shrine are Arrows 10x and Light of Blessing.
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, puzzle chambers can be discovered throughout the game’s expansive map. Players can solve puzzles within the shrine to receive awards hidden in chests and Light of Blessing. Another advantage of unlocking shrines is that they served to me as Fast Travel Points when unlocked.
Light of Blessing can then be used to increase Links Health and Stamina. Each shrine offers a puzzle the players must overcome to reap the rewards.
The puzzle of Soryotanog Shrine requires players to use fans to clear up sand piles and mirrors to direct and re-direct light.
Soryotanog Shrine
In the game Zelda: Teards of the Kingdom Soryotanog Shrine in the Geruda Desert, Geruda Town is exactly high above Geruda Town.
We have found the following two ways to help you get to this Shrine:
- You can either go to Geruda Town. However, for that, you will require unique clothes and must complete the main quest— Forbidden City Entry, to get them. The coordinates for Gerudo Town are -3880, -2961, and 0123. Once you enter Gerudo town, you will meet Riju in front of the main fortress. On her Right, stairs will go on into a room. In this room, use ascend until you reach the shrine.
- You must paraglide from Skyview Tower Geruda Desert to bypass the conventional route. However, this endeavor demands ample stamina (you can increase your stamina by completing the more accessible shrines first).
- You can bypass getting into Gerudo Town. Climb the walls of Gerudo town and ascend to reach the temple. However, you should remember that the walls will have enemies on them.
Solving The Puzzle Soryotanog Shrine
Now in our guide for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Soryotanog Guide, we will show you how to solve the puzzle of the shrine easily.
Once you have entered the Soryotanog Shrine, follow these instructions to solve the puzzle and receive the Light of Blessing.

- Once you have entered the shrine, descend the stairs, and you will enter the first room. In the first room, you will see a Fan stuck in a pile of sand with a green door beside it. I am sure there may be other ways to do this but I suggest using Ultrahand to pull the fan out of the pile. Then hit the fan to activate it and use that fan to clear out other piles of sand in the room.
- Underneath one of those piles, there will be a chest. Open the chest to receive a Small Key.
- Now use this small key to unlock the Green Door beside the pile of sand with the fan stuck in it.
- Now move into the second room but carry the fan with you. When in the second room, you will face a Construct. Put down the fan and defeat it. Now in this second room, there will be two piles of sand, one will have a mirror buried under it, and the other will be in the right corner.
- However, a hidden path will be behind the pile in the right corner. Drop the fan and follow the path into the third room. You can take this fan with you or if you forgot your fan like me, you can also use the fan stuck in the pile of sand in the third room.
- Within the third room, there will be two piles of sand. Underneath, one of those piles will be a construct with a Fan Guster, and the second pile has a fan stuck in it after defeating the Construct having the Fan Guster. Pick up the Fan Guster.
- Now on one of the sides of the room, you will see an area on top of the wall with a gear stuck due to sand. Place the fan next to that wall with the wind direction facing upwards, and glide onto that area. Clear the sand that stops the gear from working using Fan Guster.
- Once cleared, the door next to it will unlock. Go inside and unlock the Treasure Chest within it.
- The Reward in that chest will be 10x Arrows.
- Now go back into the Second Room. On the other side, a ledge will be next to the barred gate. Use Ascend to move up the ledge.
- Drop down into the next room(Fourth Room) on an elevated platform; the next room will be a Construct.
- In this fourth room, there will be three piles of sand. Upon clearing them, there will be a Mirror and a Beam of light. Once inside, pick up the mirror using Ultra Hand. Place it on the light source so the light is directed to the second room through the barred gate. I did this by placing it on the elevated platform in that room.
- Go back into the second room. Use ascend to move onto the ledge. Then glide into the Second Room. Now pick up the mirror you found in one of the sand piles there. Use this mirror to direct the beam of light coming from the fourth room onto the Orange Lock. Once the lock turns green then the door under it will open.
- Now head through the opened door and complete the Shrine. Receive the Light of Blessing.
Rewards
We were able to collect the following rewards upon completing the puzzle of the Soryotanog Shrine.
Obtained by | Reward | Tips and uses |
Treasure Chest(In shrine) | x10 Arrows | Combat, this reward is optional. If players choose to skip the chest, it won’t affect the completion of the Shrine. However, we recommend players get this chest. |
Completing the Shrine | Light of Blessing | Light of Blessing can be used to increase Links Stamina and Health. |
Some Players tend to skip the chests that are within the shrines. However, getting to those chests takes a little extra time and mind. We still recommend getting them as they may contain useful material or weapons.
Tip | Reason |
Look for Shrines at nighttime | As shrines give off a Greenish glow, they are easier to spot at night |
Look near stables | Shrines serve as fast travel points; you cannot take your horse. Thus, it is only reasonable that they are near stables. |
Use Skyview Towers | Skytowers propel Link into the sky. You can use height’s advantage to locate the shrine’s green glow at night. |
Once you have located a Shrine, you don’t need to solve its puzzle immediately. Instead, you can use it as a Fast Travel Point to get around Hyrule.
My Recommendations
My experience with the Soryotanog Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was not just about solving puzzles; it was about immersing myself in the intricacies of the game world. Each room presented a unique challenge, and the rewards were a testament to my perseverance. While you can technically skip some rooms, exploring each one ensures you don’t miss valuable rewards.
As you embark on your shrine quests, embrace the puzzles, relish the exploration, and may the Light of Blessing guide your path in Hyrule.
